Department Definition

The Firdaus Orchestra is a one-of-a-kind, all-women Orchestra that made its debut at Expo 2020. Mentored by Oscar Winner, A.R. Rahman, the orchestra consists of professional musicians from across the world, coming together in symphony, now homed in Dubai, UAE.

Opportunity Responsibilities

Main responsibilities for this role include:

Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic objectives to help propel the Marketing and Communications as well as Content development activities of both Firdaus Studio and Firdaus Orchestra
  • Develop and maintain an overall marketing strategy including digital marketing strategy, social media strategy that aligns with the goals and objectives of Firdaus Studio & Firdaus Orchestra.
  • Develop strategies to achieve goals for ticket sales and audience development and experience
  • Identify service providers and contractors i.e. social media agency, ad, and branding agencies to support the implementation of activities by providing clear and concise briefs that align with the strategic objectives
    In conjunction with Head of Orchestra and Head of Studio, strategize, create, implement, and monitor milestones and KPIs for team members as well as service providers to ensure successful execution
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, staying abreast of new technology, and finding creative ways to promote the Firdaus Studio and Firdaus Orchestra will be critical.
  • Research and identify potential partnership and collaborations, and other related stakeholders; developing strategy and preparing proposals
  • Oversee and manage all social networks, maximizing the effectiveness of content marketing and storytelling opportunities across all digital platforms
  • Develop and implement strategies in communications to actively grow following on Social Media
  • Provide inputs and recommendation to the programming calendar and highlight key opportunities for both digital and live performances from a marketing, communications and content perspective

Operational Responsibilities:

Budgeting and Scheduling

  • Develop detailed budgets and schedule for activities, i.e. print, digital, or online advertising for every concert and event, considering the various stakeholders and target audience.
  • Monitor progress, and adjust plans when necessary to stay within annual budget
  • Submit frequent reports to SVP – PMO for review.

Brand Management

  • Oversee the Firdaus Orchestra and Firdaus Studio visual identity on all print, digital and web materials
  • Monitor and curate the Firdaus Orchestra and Firdaus Studio online activities, such as the website and all social media with the support from Senior Associate - Content
  • Manage and capture content for orchestra at all events and translating the same to marketable assets with the support from Senior Associate - Content
  • Work with Firdaus Orchestra staff and musicians to develop a sustainable and consistent brand for the Orchestra

Digital Content Management

  • Manage and develop content that increases patron, audience and client engagement (as applicable) with the Firdaus Orchestra and Firdaus Studio social media accounts
  • Monitor public response on Firdaus Orchestra and Firdaus Studio web and social media pages - respond to comments and flag inappropriate material
  • Work with writers, designers, developers, and other stakeholders to create compelling content that engages visitors and promotes Firdaus Studio and Orchestra
  • Evaluating new technologies and suggesting ways to incorporate them into existing strategies
  • Conducting research on topics related to the company’s products or services to create content for blogs, websites, and other marketing materials
  • Researching and analyzing industry trends to identify new opportunities to capitalize on
  • Tracking and measuring the performance of digital content with the use of digital tools that measure key performance indicators and metrics

Website Management

  • Provide creative briefs and oversee design and create content for the website
  • Maintain and update content such as news, concerts, events, etc. leveraging the programming calendar
  • Updating when new information as it becomes available, removing outdated information, ensuring that everything is presented in an accurate and consistent manner across different platforms.
  • Extract data from website visitation and provide reports for any recommendation and other improvements

Print Content

  • Manage and work with agencies and service providers for print content such as program books, brochures, posters, and brand content
  • Ideate, strategize and create content for brand reach and sponsorships opportunities leveraging the programming calendar
  • Produce in-house basic design collateral (e.g. ads, invitations, simple flyers, miscellaneous needs)

E-Communication

  • Actively grow and maintain email list on CRM database
  • Analyze and utilize data for targeted marketing campaigns
  • Design and develop content for Firdaus Orchestra and Firdaus Studio communication to patrons through e-mail blasts. Monitor response to email campaigns, analyse and submit reports
  • Working closely with PMO – Data & Insights team to develop audience surveys and extract data to inform organizational strategies

Press Releases

  • Develop news releases in a timely manner for newsworthy material and ensure Expo City Marketing implantation as per schedule
  • Maintain a current news release distribution list
    Update online community calendars as and when required

Public Appearances

  • Arrange end-to-end logistics for appearances of the Orchestra management team, musicians guest artists, Studio Management for any media events
  • Arranging press conferences as needed with the support from Associate – Marketing and Communications

Awards

  • Research and identify the different kinds of awards related to the music industry and determine the accolade that may be relevant for the work created/ done by Firdaus Studio and Firdaus Orchestra
  • Evaluate award entry objectives and prepare response for submission.
  • Identify and use content (videos, pictures, social media feeds, statistics, etc) and other examples/ facts to support and justify the nomination.
  • Engage with external stakeholders (composers, guest artists, etc) to obtain their support on the submission.
  • Quantify the results, where possible, to add more value-added information to the submission.
  • Provide sufficient evidence to back up the submission
    Identify budgets that may be required for entry fees and other logistical expenses such as hotel bookings, flights, taxis, or even booking tables for the ceremony

General

  • Establish and maintain positive contacts with Expo City Dubai stakeholders (marketing, communications, broadcasting etc.) to ensure smooth management of marketing requirements
  • Establish and maintain positive contacts with media agencies across the Middle East and the World to ensure Orchestra features and has an incremental reach
  • Manage team members and guide them towards achieving the objectives in an efficient manner
  • Participate in activities, conference and meetings in related industries to develop interest for potential future collaborators
  • Conduct weekly and monthly meetings and report to the SVP-PMO on activities.

Skills

8+ years of local industry-related experience as well as:

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent experience
    Knowledge of and/or training in live and/or digital performances
  • Understanding and appreciation of music industry
  • A detailed and wide-ranging knowledge of the latest social media and user platforms
  • Experience of working with a range of digital agencies, consultancies and suppliers
  • Ability to create and sustain key networks for the business
  • Experience in development and execution of successful marketing plans and increasing earned revenues
  • Strong and powerful, compelling written and oral communications.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurially
  • Able to work effectively and flexibly within a diverse team and pressurised environment
  • Transparency, integrity and honesty
  • Regional/UAE experience
  • Strong media network and connections
