Department Definition
The Expo City Technology (ECT) department has been established as a business enabler for Expo City Dubai. The department will focus on providing all technology services to Expo City Dubai. The ECT team will focus on the following key areas: • Development of enterprise solutions • Network services • Technology support services (including AV technologies) • Security technology systems and services • Cyber Security The technology strategy team is tasked with: • Alignment with overall business objectives • Development of long-term vision • Increased operational efficiency • Define Competitive Advantage • Realisation and Monetisation roadmap of existing and new services
Opportunity Responsibilities
The purpose of this role is to work with business stakeholders and the Technology Strategy business analyst team to define Expo City’s processes, products and services and identify opportunities to use digital tools and techniques supplied by ECT to improve them.
The main responsibilities for this role include:
Operational Responsibilities
- Conduct business process analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analysis to align ECT solutions and services with business initiatives and requirements.
- Work with business users to define and analyse problems and align the most suitable technical applications or solutions.
- Collaborate with both business and ECT service provider to specify business and functional requirements.
- Solicit, understand and challenge business requirements.
- Ensure business requirements are defined and maintained throughout the development life cycle.
- Ensure business process rules are defined and key success measures for the business processes being defined.
- Ensure end-user documentation (user guides, process flow charts, training material) is created, reviewed and delivered and deliver training where required.
- Engage and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders up to senior management level.
- Ensure business and technical teams as well as other relevant stakeholders collaborate to build project plans
- Define and manage service delivery costs.
- Ensure project risks, scope changes, stakeholder communication and reporting is monitored throughout the service delivery life cycle, and lead corrective action when required to ensure continued alignment with the business specifications.
- Where applicable manage vendors to ensure their products and services are aligned with Expo City’s business and technology requirements and that they meet or exceed delivery expectations in a cost effective and timely manner.
People Responsibilities
- Set objectives and evaluate performance of individual direct reports and actively manage key personnel issues.
- Ensure that the team acquire the required skills and knowledge through appropriate learning and development programs.
Skills
8+ years relevant IT business analysis, project management and delivery experience in a digital transformation environment as well as:
- Strong written and verbal communication, including business communication and technical writing skills.
- Familiarity with the capabilities of new technologies
- Experience with project management tools, e.g. Basecamp, Confluence, JIRA, etc.
- Track record of technical and business excellence with a proven ability to apply technology solutions to address business problems.
- Proven ability to engage and establish strong relationship with a variety of different stakeholders.
- Proven ability to execute detailed business requirements analysis, document processes and develop project plans.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple initiatives at once to meet deadlines.
