Department Definition

The Real Estate Developments department is responsible for the development and delivery of operational for the real estate projects at Expo City Dubai. The team is responsible for implementing the development strategy for Expo City Dubai and works with variety of stakeholders from the master planning phase, through design and construction, to ensure the delivery of large-scale construction projects.

Opportunity Responsibilities

The Main responsibilities of the role include:

Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Defining the Project Execution Plan, Procurement Strategies and Project Delivery Strategies.
  • Validating the design and construction schedules.
  • Ensuring the budget is managed through the technical documentation stage, through procurement and contractor award
  • Ensure the deliverables from consultants are met to the acceptable quality for tendering
  • Ensuring the right resources are utilised effectively at the right time across their team and projects.
  • Ensuring that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies.
  • Contributing to the Value Management and Value Engineering
  • Process to ensure that the Client receives the best product for the best value.
  • Managing the coordination of works packages, and interfaces during projects delivery
  • Ensuring Consultants have implemented an effective strategy for statutory approvals role.
  • Conducting meaningful inductions, performance management reviews and personal development plans that support the development of individuals and the business.
  • Contributing to succession planning and career development across their team.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of training and awareness sessions as required.
  • Providing project and team updates including monthly and weekly reports.
  • Attending and contributing to senior management meetings.
  • Attending and leading team and project meetings, cascade relevant information and encourage feedback from team.
  • Engaging with peer group and contributing to industry events and associations.
  • Leading by example and ensure QMS and Project lifecycle compliance across their team and projects.
  • Providing leadership and guidance on the approach to
  • Sustainability and ensuring that the Sustainability strategy is implemented within projects, including achievement of required ratings.

People Responsibilities:

  • Lead the infrastructure team responsibly and proficiently, providing effective line management to direct reports
  • Set objectives and evaluate performance of individual direct reports and actively manage key personnel issues
  • Ensure that all staff acquire the required skills and knowledge through appropriate learning and development programs
  • Embed culture and vision Expo City Dubai by role-modelling organizational behaviours through performance management, feedback and coaching

Skills

12+ years professional experience with recent successful delivery on large construction projects covering utility infrastructure preferred.
Discipline specific professional registration preferred (PMP, PMI, ICE, RICS) as well as:

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering or Project / Construction
  • Management discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of delivery within the Middle East is essential, preferably within the UAE market operating in a consultancy or client representative role.
  • Produce, review, and implement employer requirement documents.
  • Keep up to date with industry developments with respect to own discipline, other disciplines and engineering innovations and developments on a global scale.
  • Initiate and support the technical capabilities of the team.
  • Maintain contact with key technical leaders.
  • Lead technical solutions on projects.
  • Drive innovation and utilise technological advancement.
  • The PD must have natural abilities which include:

  • Sound knowledge of recognised project management control principles (procurement, earned value measurement, risk management, contract admin and claims resolution, change control).
  • Sound knowledge of the principal major forms of contract .
  • Good knowledge of the uses of commercial scheduling and estimating software.
  • Experience of cost collection, reporting and analysis.
